Design

Between classic design for a hair removal system and a dated design for a modern gadget, the Braun Silk-expert Pro IPL sits somewhere in the middle. It is corded, which is disappointing but also gives a consistent performance. We would have preferred a more modern and genderless take on design but it does feel comfortable and instinctive.

Use

Simply remove all visible hair in the area you wish to treat with the included Venus razor. Then use either of the included interchangeable heads for the most efficient treatment depending on the size of the area you wish to treat. The standard head is ideal for legs, armpits, and arms, while the precision head is ideal for more precise areas like the face as well as more intimate areas like your bikini line.

Maintenance

Though the IPL unit is designed to be used for well over a decade with little to no maintenance required, the razor that comes with it will need replacing as often as possible. The Braun Silk-expert Pro IPL works on cleanly shaven skin, if you choose to use a shaver like the one included in this package, it will suffer the wear that all razors do and will need regular replacements.

Price

At $249.99, the Braun Silk-expert Pro IPl is not expensive in terms of IPL systems. You may end up spending the same again on razors but you should save you money in the long run. It's a well-known brand at a lower-end price.
